Chelsea Desperate For Champions League

Chelsea skipper John Terry believes his team are ready to finally launch a successful challenge for the Champions League.

Chelsea have made three Champions League semi-finals over the last four years, but never quite managed to secure a berth in the final.

However, Terry believes this one could be different, as everyone in the team is focussed on the biggest club-level trophy in the world.

“We’re so desperate to win it as a group,” Terry has been quoted as saying in a documentary DVD, Blue Revolution, which will go on sale later this month.

“It doesn’t really come from me. It comes from players within and that will to win comes from inside.

“We’re born winners here and that’s going to keep us going over the next few years, because we’re desperate to win it, and it really sets the tone.

About having one of the best squads in Europe, he said: “It has been exciting. I’m lucky enough to play with some of the best in the world. Obviously, with the money we’ve had, we’ve been able to do that.

“Not only that but we’ve had a base of players. Myself, Lampsy, Joe Cole, players brought in early on and we’ve built around them as well.

“Didier’s been here a few years, Carlo too. With them around as the backbone of the team, whilst adding players here and there, it’s worked very well.”
